Privacy Policy

Overview

CustomNotify ("the App") is developed and maintained by CustomApps LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how the App handles your data. It is available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store), and our website is at customnotify.us.

The short version: every reminder you create, its title, body, schedule, icon and history, stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers of ours, and no way for us to read what you schedule. The App does send anonymous crash reports and basic app-lifecycle events so we can find and fix bugs. That telemetry never contains your reminder content.

Two Kinds of Data, Treated Completely Differently

This distinction is the whole point of the policy. One category cannot reach us at all. The other is deliberately anonymous and is deliberately small.

1. Your reminder data: never leaves your device

Everything you enter is stored exclusively on your device in a local database:

• Reminder titles, bodies, schedules and repeat rules
• Icons, colours, sounds and per-reminder settings
• Delivery history and snooze or skip records
• App preferences

None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it, back it up, or recover it. The only way it leaves your device is when you export it from Settings and choose where to send it. Exported files are saved wherever you direct them and are not transmitted to us. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

2. Anonymous telemetry: what we do collect

The App initializes PostHog(a product-analytics service; data is processed on PostHog’s US cloud) and the RevenueCat SDK. Concretely, and no more than this:

• Crash and error reports - stack traces plus device model, OS version and app version when something breaks.
• App-lifecycle events - application opened and backgrounded. There are no custom usage events: the App never records which screens you visit or which features you use.
• An anonymous identifier- a randomly generated ID. It is not your name, email, phone number or advertising ID, and there are no accounts to link it to. We never call any "identify" function and never set profile properties. The Android build explicitly strips the advertising-ID permission from the manifest merge, so no bundled library can reintroduce it.

No opt-out toggle exists in this version.Unlike our CustomSubs app, CustomNotify has no "Share Anonymous Usage Data" setting yet. If that matters to you, the App works fully offline; telemetry is limited to the categories above and is never linked to you.

What We Still Do Not Do

• No personal information - no names, emails, phone numbers, or accounts
• No reminder content, titles or schedules transmitted, ever
• No advertisements and no advertising identifiers
• No location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone access
• No session recording, no screen or tap autocapture, no surveys, no feature-flag tracking - each is explicitly disabled in code
• No sale or sharing with data brokers - telemetry goes only to our service providers, PostHog and RevenueCat, acting on our behalf

Third-Party Services

• PostHog - crash reporting and app-lifecycle events, as described above. See PostHog’s Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat - the SDK is initialized for anonymous install and usage counts. CustomNotify has no in-app purchases and no subscriptions; nothing is ever sold in this App and no payment information exists. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

We integrate no other third-party SDKs, no advertising networks, and no social media trackers.

Notifications & Permissions

• Notifications- the core function of the App. Reminders are scheduled entirely on your device using the operating system’s notification APIs, and no notification content is transmitted off your device.
• Alarms & reminders (Android)- optional. Granting it delivers reminders to the exact minute; denying it means the App falls back to inexact scheduling and reminders may drift by minutes. The App reads this permission’s state to tell you which mode you are in.
• Ignore battery optimizations (Android) - optional, and only offered because aggressive battery restriction can delay or drop scheduled reminders.
• Boot completed (Android) - re-arms your pending reminders after a restart. Android clears all alarms on boot; without this, every pending reminder would be silently lost.
• Internet - used only to send the crash reports and lifecycle events described above.

The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, or any other device sensors.

Pricing

CustomNotify is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no premium tier and no paid features. We never receive or store payment details, because the App processes no payments at all.

This Website

This site uses Vercel Analytics, which counts page views and referrers without cookies and without building a profile of visitors. It is separate from the App and collects nothing about your reminders. We use no other tracking scripts, no advertising pixels, and no cookie-based analytics.

What We Declare to the App Stores

These categories match the telemetry described above, and are what we declare on the Google Play Data Safety form and the Apple App Store privacy label:

• Crash logs
• Diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version)
• App interactions (application opened and backgrounded only)
• Device or other IDs (a random anonymous ID; never an advertising ID)

For every category: collected yes, shared no, not linked to your identity, and not used to track youacross other companies’ apps or websites. Your reminder content is not collected.

Data Security, Retention & Your Rights

Your reminder data never leaves the device, so there is nothing on our side to breach, export or delete. It is protected by your device’s built-in security features such as passcode, biometrics and encryption. Deleting the App permanently removes all local data, and you can clear individual reminders and templates from within the App at any time. Telemetry is transmitted over HTTPS.

Because all telemetry is anonymous and there are no accounts, we cannot locate an individual person’s records in order to export or delete them - there is no identifier that maps to you. You can delete everything we could ever associate with your device by uninstalling the App.

GDPR Compliance (European Users)

We process crash and lifecycle data on the legal basis of legitimate interest, namely keeping the App working. The data is minimized, carries no personal information, and is never linked to an identity. Your reminder data is never processed by us at all, because it does not leave your device. Processing occurs in the United States via our processors PostHog and RevenueCat. If you have questions about your rights under the GDPR, contact us at the email below.

CCPA Compliance (California Users)

CustomNotify complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell or share personal information, and the anonymous telemetry described above is not personal information as defined under the CCPA. California residents have the right to request disclosure of data practices - this policy serves as that disclosure.

Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

CustomNotify is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we collect no personal information from any user. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
